This course discusses key legal issues surrounding the Internet of Things (IoT), including its benefits and risks, as well as U.S. federal law addressing privacy and data security regulation.
The IoT is the interconnection and networking of web-connected devices, which are embedded with software, electronics, microchips, sensors, and other forms of technology, that collect, use, analyze, store, transmit, and exchange data.
It is the infrastructure of today’s information society and it is growing at a rapid pace.
