This course offers a comprehensive and hands-on exploration of trade remedies—safeguards, anti-dumping (AD), countervailing duties (CVD), and retaliation measures—as tools for addressing unfair trade practices and managing surges in imports that harm domestic industries. The course examines the legal foundations, investigative processes, litigation strategies, and compliance risks associated with trade remedy proceedings under U.S. law and WTO rules, with a focus on defending or challenging these actions in administrative, judicial, and multilateral forums.
Students will engage in case simulations, industry impact assessments, and client advisory exercises to develop real-world skills in trade remedy litigation, compliance strategy, and legal advisory across jurisdictions and sectors.
