This advanced legal training course explores the corporate legal risks, liabilities, and sanctions exposure arising under the USA PATRIOT Act, with an emphasis on its intersection with anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CFT), banking regulation, and national security enforcement. Participants will examine how Titles II, III, and X of the Act shape corporate compliance responsibilities, internal investigations, data disclosures, third-party liabilities, and interactions with law enforcement.
Through hands-on legal scenario work, participants will develop the skills to assess, mitigate, and respond to government scrutiny involving Patriot Act provisions—including 311 designations, subpoena authority, special measures, and penalties for failure to comply.
