INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE
This course provides background on intellectual property rights, or IPR for short, and discusses the role of U.S. international trade policy, in enhancing IPR protection and enforcement abroad.
As part of this course, we will discuss:
1, the different types of Intellectual Property Rights, and IPR infringement;
2, the role of IPR in the U.S. economy;
3, estimated losses associated with IPR infringement;
4, the organizational structure of IPR protection;
5, U.S. trade policy; and
6, other legal issues regarding IPR and international trade.
