This advanced course offers a deep dive into the legal frameworks, obligations, and operational mechanisms behind cross-border anti-money laundering (AML) cooperation and data sharing. Participants will explore the tension between global AML enforcement and national privacy, banking secrecy, and data protection laws, including the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act, FATF recommendations, GDPR, and emerging regional regimes.
The course is built around real-world legal tasks such as drafting interaffiliate data agreements, conducting legal risk reviews of cross-border financial flows, and managing multi-jurisdictional government requests for AML-related disclosures.
