Hello and welcome to Crimes Against Property, an introductory online law course.
Although crimes against the person such as murder and rape are considered extremely heinous, crimes against property can cause enormous loss, suffering, and even personal injury or death.
In this course, we will go over different classifications of nonviolent theft crimes that are called white-collar crimes when they involve commercial theft. We will also analyze theft crimes that involve force or threat, receiving stolen property, and crimes that invade or damage property, such as burglary and arson. We will discuss computer crimes including hacking, identity theft, and intellectual property infringement at the end of the course.
